McKenzie Blair

McKenzie came to Gateway in February 2024 to clean stalls — or, as she likes to say, to be a "pooper scooper." What started as a small job quietly became something much more. The honesty of the barn work, the animals, and the people made it hard to leave. So she didn't.

Over time, McKenzie's steady presence and willingness to show up for whatever was needed made her an essential part of the team. As Barn Assistant, she works alongside the Barn Manager to keep the barn running smoothly and ensure it remains a clean, welcoming space for animals and people alike.

McKenzie also brings her creativity to Gateway as our Social Media Content Creator, capturing the everyday moments of barn life and helping share Gateway's story with the broader community. Outside of those roles, she occasionally leads drum circles and sound bowl sessions — quiet, grounding spaces that invite connection and a little breathing room.

With over 20 years of experience in dog training, McKenzie has a deep, lived understanding of what animals can teach us about patience, trust, and relationship. She brings that same attentiveness to everything she does at Gateway — and to every person and animal she encounters here.
