Kari Alderson, LCSW

Kari is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience supporting students, families, and educators, primarily in school-based settings. Before joining Gateway Family Services, she served as a school social worker, offering compassionate support to school personnel, students, and families across all age groups.

She earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and gained valuable experience in public child welfare before beginning her work in schools.

With a deep appreciation for nature and a passion for the healing bond between humans and animals, Kari transitioned into her current role, where she helps clients navigate emotional and relational challenges. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages and has a special interest in supporting educators, parents and caregivers.

Kari’s approach is strengths-based and client-centered. She brings a strong sense of curiosity about the systems that influence growth and change, and she strives to create a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship in which clients feel empowered to grow.

Kari and her husband, Jeremy, have three adult children.
