Affordable Snow Day Activities for Fun Without Screens!

Snow days can be fantastic, right? However, they can also bring stress and frustration, leading to fighting or excessive screen time. We also know how tempting it is to allow our kids to disappear into electronics for the day. While we’re not saying that technology is bad, we recognize how extended tech time can impact our brains and bodies. We understand that staying cooped up indoors can be challenging, so we’ve created a fun game of SNOW DAY BINGO! This game offers plenty of engaging, screen-free activities for families that require minimal preparation and no long grocery lists.

In addition to these activities, maintaining a regular schedule during these cold days can be very beneficial. It’s easy to fall into the habit of sleeping in, eating whenever, and disrupting our daily routines. While we encourage you to enjoy a relaxing snow day, we also recommend keeping some structure and predictability for your household. Creating a calendar or schedule for the day can help everyone know what to expect and enhance the overall experience. If you plan to incorporate screen time into your day, it is crucial to establish clear expectations regarding when screens are allowed, what needs to be completed in order to earn screen time, and how long they will be permitted to use devices. Setting these clear expectations upfront is essential for reducing frustration when it’s time to put the screens away.
