From Our Kitchen to Our Community — I’m Competing in United We Cook

There’s something powerful about a recipe that travels.

My mom’s Remole Cinnamon Rolls aren’t just a dish — they’re a family tradition decades in the making. Every Thanksgiving, no matter where life took me, she made sure those warm, homemade rolls found their way to me. It was her way of showing up.
That same spirit — showing up for the people who need you — is at the heart of everything we do at Gateway Family Services.

This May 2nd, I’m bringing that tradition to the Danville Palmer Arena as a competing chef in United We Cook, the United Way of Danville Area’s beloved community culinary fundraiser. As the reigning Top Chef, I’m returning to defend my title — and the Remole Cinnamon Rolls are even headed to a community cookbook this year.
But the real reason I’m sharing this isn’t the title defense.
It’s what your support makes possible.
Funds raised through United We Cook support United Way of Danville Area, which in turn helps sustain the ongoing work of Gateway Family Services as a proud partner agency. That means more trauma-informed care. More trauma-focused equine-assisted psychotherapy sessions. More children and veterans in Vermilion County who get the help they deserve.
Here’s how you can be part of it:
Donate any amount to my fundraiser before May 2nd at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/fundraising/michael-remole. Every dollar matters.

And if you donate $250 or more? I’ll personally deliver a fresh batch of Remole Cinnamon Rolls to your door — a little piece of family tradition, straight from my kitchen to yours.
Come hungry on May 2nd. Or donate from wherever you are. Either way, you’re showing up — and that’s what this community does best.
